Publishing your poems

Uploading a poem, what files work, and how review works.

Uploading a poem

  1. Sign in and open My Poetry, then choose to add a new poem.
  2. Give it a title and choose at least one theme.
  3. Add a recording, the written words, or both. Adding both lets listeners read along and helps people find your poem in search.
  4. Optionally add notes about the poem and a cover image.
  5. Submit it for review.

Files you can use

  1. Recordings: MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, OGG, WebM or FLAC, up to 10 MB.
  2. Cover images: JPG, PNG, WEBP or GIF, up to 10 MB.
  3. If you want your poems in podcast apps, record in MP3 or M4A; the other formats cannot be published to podcasts.

Review

Every poem is reviewed by the Sapitwa team before it goes live. You can see whether each poem is pending, approved or rejected in My Poetry.

Editing an approved poem sends it back for review, and it returns once approved again.

Recording tips

  1. Record somewhere quiet, close to the microphone.
  2. Leave a moment of silence before you begin and after you finish.
  3. Keep the written words exactly as you read them, line by line, so read-along works well.
