What is Sapitwa Poetry?

Sapitwa Poetry is the home of Malawian poetry: poems read aloud by the poets who wrote them, with the words alongside. Anyone can listen, no account needed.

Finding poems

1. Home shows new and popular poems, and Sapitwa Picks, the collections chosen by our editors.
2. Poems lists every published poem. Browse by theme to narrow it down.
3. Poets lists everyone publishing on Sapitwa. Open a poet to hear all of their work.
4. Search finds poems by title, by poet or by words in the poem.

Creating an account

Choose Join in the sidebar to create a free account. With an account you can save poems to your Library, publish your own poems, turn them into a podcast and claim poems that are yours.

Changing the language

Sapitwa is available in English and Chichewa. Use the language switcher to change it; your choice is remembered.
